The buzz of the city
I hear the city buzz during the day,
like a bee hive during spring.
I see the people racing to do their jobs,
like a worker bees racing to collect nectar from tulips.
I see people forced to work jobs with scanty wages,
like bees forced to make honey in a bee farm.
I see our soldiers dying to protect our society,
like a bee dying after stinging an enemy to protect the hive.
I see people dying on the street after being pushed out of their homes,
like bees dying after being forced out of their hive.
I hear the city buzz with anguish and suffering,
like a bee hive trying to survive nature’s cruelty.

My inspiration to write this poem was Whitman's poetic style, and the due date of this project.
