A never-ending cycle of passionate love and fiery hate
in a way that frightens and excites you in equal measures.
A relationship of contradictions and paradoxes,
for this is a gentle torture whose pain is kind.
So unhealthy and yet it’s this that keeps you alive.

This is a fire that blazes hot and is able to burn you so,
a great measure of things and somehow never ice.
Never dispassionate and freezing cold ice that lacks emotion,
and instead something that can give comforting warmth
along with causing pain and hurt to you.

Even in the beauty of the dancing, flickering flames,
they can destroy you as your form lights ablaze.
This will slaughter you in the most beautiful way
and you won’t even attempt to protest your death
as you sprint to it as though you’re running a marathon.
