Metaphors
All your life people will come and go
like leafs in the wind on a fall day
they will drift away.
It may feel unfair
like a foul-play
but you will live
to see another day.
Each person services a purpose
like a song's steady tempo
they create the beat
your dancing to
making life feel
less blue.
They build you up
like a construction team
and see you at your highest
They fix you up
like the repair guy
and wipe away your tears
Then they tear you down
like a demolition team
and make you feel broken
once they are no longer there.
All your life people will come and go
teaching lessons
like a textbook
page by page
leaving you thankful
and sorrowful
for the knowledge and pain

I was inspired to write this piece because recently a close friend of mine that I have had for five plus years just moved away.
