Seven AM Serenity
Awoken by a gentle warmth emanating from
The sun smiling down.
A rare moment,
Like a finicky cat's purr.
I peer through the windows,
Observing the way the trees bow to the breeze.
The seventh hour is a faded blue.
Leash in hand,
Eager to feel the wind against my cheeks,
I rush to the door.
*chirp chirp*
Birds flutter around my puppy as he leaps into the crisp grass,
*crunch crunch*
The leaves shatter in their perfect piles as he bounds through.
I take it all in
Perching on the top step leading to the prison
That keeps me from the beauty of seven in the morning.
The cage that I call "Home Sweet Home".

My teacher had assigned a poem with a random time of day. I just think back to when I'm off of school, wake up early, and relax in the morning breeze. Early mornings are very peaceful when there is no rush.
