You Would Think
I love the way you look at me,
But I hate how your gaze lingers.
I love the way you hold me,
But your fingers burn me after time.
I love the sound that your voice makes,
But I wish to be deaf when you tell stories.
I love your bright smile,
But I long for a frown after countless grins.
I love your well of patience,
But I wish you lost it sometimes.
You'd think my love for you
Would abound forever.
You'd think attraction lasts,
That it always remains strong.
You'd think that I'd stay crazy for you,
And do anything for you.
You'd think I'd stay committed,
Forever loyal to the precious you.
You'd think I'd know what's wrong,
But, I don't think I do.
