The warm glow gently touching my face.
earthy scent of mud abounds in the air around me.
Hearing the sound of trickling water melting from the snow
Reminding me it’s almost time to take the first dip.

Washing the dogs frequently from their adventures,
after finding the treasures the winter snow has left them.
Filling the tub with silty water,
hoping they don’t get as muddy as the last time.

We plant the bulbs for the tulips,
wearing dresses and brightly patterned clothes.
Happiness and excitement overflowing in me.
My stomach turns and flips with joy,
summer is on its way.
