The Kadupul Musician
A Kadupul thinker blossoms during the night.
The city lights of Boston fuel him.
Abraham Lincoln, Vincent Van Gogh, Mark Twain and Nelson Mandela--
all Kadupul thinkers,
and late to bloom.
They inspire him to grow.
The Kadapul thinker reincarnates.
Music is life.
The trained ear,
the unselfish soul,
the wise teachers
are the ones who hear
and guide the Kadupul musician,
who blossoms with the full moon and twinkling stars above.
The Kadupul musician.
He’s a late bloomer
just like Leonard Cohen and Thelonious Monk.
Hallelujah!
You won’t find the Kadupul in the mainstream.
He is exotic and rare.
Note: A kadupul flower is rare and considered priceless. It blooms only at night and it cannot be picked without causing damage to it. It is the flower that cannot be bought.

Our English teacher asked us to think about if we were to personify ourselves what would we use to represent us, like an animal or a plant or a color. I thought a kadupul flower because I get my best ideas late at night and I was a very late bloomer. I also play the drums, so I included music.
