The Sun's pride

The sun still rises over a snow
capped mountain.
Aware that the world we
know is fading.
Fading beyond the black
or white, but to the grey that we
are now accustomed too.
But the flaming light
pushes on.
Pushing on through the days
of war and times of suffering.
Trying to make peace on a
ticking time bomb.
But the light in the sky
adorns the worst to
elevate the best.
