I don’t know why the bluebirds
Have started to sing
Their lullaby sweeps over what used to be
The turmoil of dirt,
Sparingly found roots
Unbeknownst that
A flower has been ripped loose.
Over the tilled garden,
A bluebird sings
A hopeful soliloquy
Only heard by me.
