I am vengence
I am justice
I am the night
I am the Batman

But am I Bruce Wayne?
Maybe Bruce Wayne died in that alley too
He was the first boy I couldn’t save

But from his death I was born
We have the same face and body
Same black hair
Chiseled Chin
Gruff voice

People confuse me for him
I even have to pretend to be him
To keep his memory alive

Every night I shed his skin
And leave his cold empty manner
The cave is my real home

I down the cape and cowl
Black and cold to the touch
Armor plated for protection
Protection that  Bruce’s parents didn't get
A risk I’m not willing to take
Not in Gotham
The city equivalent of a rat’s nest

The only regret I have is
I keep making more like me
I take in the children who were like Bruce
And teach their new selves how to be like me

Dick
Jason
Tim
Barbra
Cassandra….
Even my own son, Damian

They all get hurt in the end
And if they do live through it
I’ve changed them
Now they can’t go on without fighting
They’re dependant
Like a drug

And I guess I’m dependant too
Bruce Wayne didn’t die in that alley because of Joe Chill
I killed Bruce Wayne
I murdered him by springing into existence
Because I was his Justice
I was his vengeance
I was his fear
I was his monsters.

We needed to take a sentence from a piece and then craft a new piece with a similar feeling. I've always been well versed in Batman and superheroes, so I can write about it in great detail.
