My life is pretty hard
Yours may be to
But i have these feelings inside
And I don't know what to do
People say just let it go
It doesn't matter
But when you really look at it it does
Words hurt no matter who says them
Your mother, your best friend, even a complete stranger
It hurts no matter what
“Just let it go” they say
But you can't let it go
It goes through my head over and over
“You're stupid”
“you won't get anywhere in life”
They don't understand anything I've been through but they still continue to do it
It causes me to break down
Have a bad self image
Not want to do anything
Go out in public
Don't want to eat
You don't want to sleep
You don't even want to live anymore
I just sit there and feel bad for myself
Wish I was a different person
I hurt myself
The people I loved
People act like they care
just care about you
But they only care about
Is themselves
I put myself in a position where I knew I'd get hurt
That's all I've ever know
Pain, hurt, crying and self destruction
Life is hard
And you can't just let things go
People won't understand
But don't hurt yourself over someone's opinion
Surround yourself with positive people
With positive attitudes
Before you hurt yourself
In more ways than one
Its unbelievable what people say
And if I would be the person I was years ago
And look at myself today
I wouldn't know who I was

Depression changes who you are
It's not just sadness
Like people say
You're just said or just be happy
But it's more than that
I'm only 15 years old
And have gone through more things than people would imagine

It's hard to explain what depression feels like
Imagine you're in a dark room
Alone
No one but you
But you hear things
Words
“No one cares about you”
”you're never getting out”
“You will always be alone”
“Just Die”
“You're not worth anyone's time”
It's endless
It never stops
You just want to leave
You try to escape
But you can't
You run and run
But there is no way out
You don't get anywhere
You feel you're going crazy
And like no one else can understand you
I don't know if this is how you feel
But this is what I go through everyday
People call me crazy
Just because they don't understand
They don't know what it's like
To go through this pain
To feel all alone
You may have friends
But you know they don't understand
No one understands

It's hard to go through
And you know you need help
You don't know how to ask
You don't want to be called crazy because you feel this way
But it's better not to be alone
You don't know who to ask
Who to call
Who would really care?
I mean no one has cared this whole time
No one has stopped to ask “are you okay?”
Not even a compliment like
“You look nice today”
Or even something as simple as
“Your shoes are cool”
One little compliment can make someone's day
It could change how they feel
It could save their life
You may think no one understands
And that you're all alone
But the truth is
You're not alone
And everything will be okay
Life's going to be hard
Even harder with depression
Or anxiety
Or any kind of mental health problem
You're not the only one
And you're not alone
You'll find out that being positive
Talking about your problems
Or even writing them down
May help with things you're going through
Its going to be hard
But you can't put yourself down

Just never give up
Never give in
As you pick up that blade
Think you want your life to end
Think about who you're really hurting
You're not just hurting yourself
You're hurting your family
Your friends
Your loved ones
You may think you're doing this to end the pain
But you're not ending it
You're just putting the pain you feel
And giving it to someone else
You may say people will care when you're dead
But they care when you're alive too
They may just be scared to show it
I know you don't really know me
And you probably don't care to
But just know
I care about you
So if you think someone doesn't care
I do
And it's true
Life's going to be hard
But you'll get through
