field of emptiness
in an empty field
i see your golden kissed skin,
like melted drops of sunlight
covered on your body,
with its glassy shine
like honey.
you are unlike any flickering brass light bulb
you are the brightest.
in an empty field
i see your hands soft and tough as a waterfall
rushing so fast but colliding so clear with my own hand,
i often wonder if we’re one of the same oceans.
i hope you see how well we form, that like rain
we fall one at a time, yet in the same
second.
in an empty field
i see your arms, that have already
got me into an embrace
so gentle and secure like
a silk ribbon that
is not used for my clothes, but to
hold my weak body in
place.
it surprises me that you slip away so fast,
that i have to practically tie you around my waist
if i want to feel eased from
distress.
in an empty field
i see your eyes like green stars,
appearing so odd from the rest,
that it is like i am blind to see that
those stars
don’t exist.
it hurts me to know that
all those watchful stars stuck onto the ceiling
I would see as a child, were
green.
in an empty field
i see your soul
wild, enchanting, luminous, mesmerizing that
i could write poems and poems until i am empty with words,
and then i become
that empty field.

I got a vision of a girl in a field during the "golden hour" blowing out a dandelion. And then a boy looking at her in that same field. He was taking pictures of her. So, I decided to try and make the boy as beautiful as the girl. I hope people will understand their self-worth and that people can see how beautiful they are, from their perspective or not.
