Equilibrium
The day is going by so slowly
Every tick of the silent digital clock is
Slowly ticking the seconds of Life away
that I will never get back.
Time is continuous: a circle
bending back on itself.
History undoubtedly repeated
There is no new thing we can do;
others have done it in the past.
We try and make a moment special,
But it never lasts.
The engineer will solve problems again,
the doctor will prescribe medication again,
and the lover will inevitably love again,
even if it may not feel like the first time.
Is time an opportunity?
Every second a chance to grow?
Must we grab life by the reins,
filling our heads with knowledge
making the most of the now and the future?
Or sit back, watch water flow
And just know
Life is always repeated?
It seems
It is up to us.
Take chances
Make the most of opportunities
or Enjoy the things around us.
Exploring life,
making whatever we want come out of it
Shaping our lives as an expert potter
forms a clay pot,
Enjoying
the sound of the trees in a cool forest,
or the way a field’s grass waves
on a June day
The silence you hear is life’s way of urging,
Beckoning,
You to decide.
For your enjoyment,
or your move.
Your choice

Einstein's Dreams by Alan Lightman inspired me to write this piece. I was inspired by the part where he talked about the logic of the Nows and the Laters and how it is impeccable.
