I'm the kid on the trophy case
Shiny and new and clean
I'm the kid on the trophy case
Just trying to be seen

And I'm running out of space here
All these medals next to me
The kid on the trophy case
So damn eager to please

Doing what I have to do
To keep 'em comin' in shiny, bright, new
Doing what I'm supposed to do
As I forget what I want to do

And I won't deny the pleasure
That winning seems to bring
But lately I've noticed that pleasure
Doesn't really come to me

And lately all these trophies
Been taking up the space
There may not be room for Me
Up here on his trophy case

I wanna get away from 'em on this shelf
But that's really not my say
'Cause I'm just the golden boy
Sittin' with his trophies every damn day

Just a boy being admired
Just sitting with the trophies
His goddamn golden trophy boy
On his goddamn golden trophy case.
