A Shadow, A Light

I’d like to turn on a light
For only the 7th time because,
If I did once more or less, we wouldn’t be the same,
I realized this the 2nd time,
When we met only a year ago we were quiet.
As quiet as a mouse walking through a house on a dusky night
You, were a shadow
I, was a light
We were puzzle pieces,
Though, the road to get here wasn’t honest.
It was curvy, a snake, waiting to strike,
Over savannahs and around mountains,
Through wars we fought and the parties we played.
The day, the 2nd time, I turned on a light,
Over hate, we loved
As if hate wasn’t a thing, we ignored it,
And it allowed us to stay together.
Everything, I believe
Lead me, to you.
The light, now had its shadow in a world of nothing,
And the shadow had his light.

A friend of mine and an author by the name of Shane Koyzcan inspired me to write this, I'm hoping by reading this it'll show that even though hate may be everywhere it can be thrown down, also that not everything is easy.
