Tired
“I’m tired.” falls steadily from our mouths
we’ve reached the point of tired where
everything is funny
Mouse clicks.
Game opens,
Music plays loud.
It’s quiet as everyone concentrates on winning.
Bored of one game,
we move onto the next.
Cards shuffling--the sound echoing--momentarily
interrupting conversations.
Whispers slip through our lips; funny jokes
and dumb remarks.
The point of tired--the point at night--
when sleep isn’t happening
