Winter's Thaw
The world has died.
The world is silent.
Muffled by the blanket of snow
descended from the heavens.
The world is cold.
A chill breath of wind
echoes across the dark land.
The world is dark.
The ver joyous sun
has hidden behind clouds,
only to cast a bleak light on a pale world.
Leaving only endless nights.
But a ray of light breaks the clouds,
bathing the world in a heavenly glow.
The world is loud now.
Snow is marred by,
children playing,
couples laughing in the twilight,
families spending time together,
people living their lives.
The world is warm now.
The chill echoes of wind
are now the warm breath of summer.
The endless expanse of white snow
has become a land of vibrant life.
The world is alight.
With summer's warm glow of sunlight.
The world has come alive.

I really liked the way that winter would thaw into spring. I love that feeling when you go outside for the first day of spring and it's warm and you can smell the freshness of the air after the bleakness of winter.
