I reach up to the hold, stretching, struggling
As I get close, my hand starts to slip
The uncertainty comes fast, hitting like lightning
And quickly I fall off the tip
I land with a thud that rattles throughout me
Enforcing feelings of loss
I have been defeated, that's clear to see
But I tell myself that I’m the boss
I start up again with strong motivation
Nothing standing in my way
I’m guided by my own determination
I’m positive it’s here to stay
Back to the same problem, I really must reach
The incertitude gives me a scare
My hand sticks to the hold like a hungry leech
And I finish the climb with some flair
Falling to the ground with pride in my eyes
I think about how hard I tried
The victory came as a little surprise
My confidence floats to the skies
Climbing through life and climbing through problems
Challenges with tops and bottoms
Trying our hardest on each thing we do
Makes the joys of life come through
