Beauty
You are not the size on the tag of your clothing.
You are not your age,
Or your weight.
You are not your dimples,
Nor the color of your hair.
You see,
These are not personality trait.
You are the words that you speak,
And your reaction to every feat.
You are the way your sleepy voice sounds late at night,
And you are every tear you cry.
You are the songs you belt,
When you think you’re home alone.
You are the joy in your laughter,
And the smiles you try to hide.
You are the place you call home,
And the places you’ve been.
You are the future you’re dreaming of.
You have so much beauty within;
However, it seems you’ve forgotten,
Between looking at all of the unreal magazine ads,
And listening to all of the false definitions
Of Beauty.
