Make-believe
  Out of the darkness
  You appeared
  Once a wandering soul
  Saw a little girl crying
All alone with nowhere to go
  There you found your place
A small spot inside her heart
  Next to The Velveteen Rabbit
  And an old postcard
  For seventeen years
  You watched her grow
  Not a single tear shed
  Except from crows

  But then came that night
  One dreadful September
  A rope held her tight
Until the Fates had cut her

Once again you enter the darkness
  Struck by a sudden realization:
  That you were not enough
  You were merely an illusion
