Where I'm From
I am from the batting cage,
just wanting “one more round.”
I am from my dad’s arm,
about to fall off due to the amount of pitches thrown.
I am from the blisters on my hands,
and the neosporin to heal what has torn.
I am from the Vinals
What lets me escape
I am from the golden age of Nas, Biggie, & Pac,
and the second coming like Joey, Kendrick, & Gibbs
I am from the Opening Scroll,
the Corellian Corvette and Star Destroyer
Luke, Leia, & Han,
Shootin up the deathstar until they destroy her.
I am from the line,
Waiting to see the next chapter in the Saga
I am from right down the road,
200 feet from school.
I am from the parking pass,
that displays how lazy I am
I am from the post-state party’s
that surface once my parents leave.
And from the week of no phone,
car or xbox
I am from the Lake
The Five hour drive that seems like Ten.
I am from the kayak and the Canoe,
waiting for whatever I want to do.
I am from Boyd,
I am from Ann,
I am from me.
