As the Bubble Bursts
Trapped in a bubble are the days of my youth,
Floating carelessly around the room.
As it comes my way,
I see nothing more than the break of day.
Oh in that bubble was the time,
I saw the birth of the sun into the night sky.
And with his hand intertwined with mine,
We watched the heavens fill with orange dye.
But this was nothing more than a memory of course,
Because he left this life many years ago.
And this memory begins to escape my mind,
As it floats further away from the hand that once held his.
But suddenly for the first time since he died,
I feel his calm blue eyes gazing at me,
As the bubble bursts.
