Where I'm From
I am from white walls that have been splashed with color
From broken bridges, and rebuilt ones
I am from clean cut windows the ones that are always filled with light
I am from the wooden boards below my feet
I am from maple trees, green grass, and mud between the splits
Whose hills run free
Over and over again
From PA and MN
I am from the fun and serious
I am from the black red and yellow and the red white and blue
From the best time and moments spent together
From the Berlin Wall broken down
And from World War II
Bright dresses spinning
And spinning in the light air
I am from those moments that were splashed with color, to ban the white walls
