I don’t recall when it all came crashing down
When I discovered i’m not who I want to be.
I’ve burned far too many bridges.
I don’t have a great christian charity.
I reek of jealousy and greed.

I don’t recall when this new internal monologue took over,
and reminded me of why you’re gone.
It doesn’t leave me alone for a moment,
It keeps preaching it’s evil song.

I don’t recall when I became this sad over your passing,
But I recall when you were on my bed,
Your eyes fluttering as you woke up,
Gave a soft smile,
And pulled me closer with a tug of the arm.
There is no art more beautiful than that.
Now it’s gone.
My internal monologue wishes to join you.
