The Battle
I am the yellow sofa
I sat while watching tv shows
eating food all day long.
Comfortable enough to fall asleep on.
Helping me forget about school,
and stress overpowering me.
that suffocates me by an unknown force
so powerful that I can’t fight back.
The stress so delicate that it might explode at anytime
like a bomb ticking down.
A losing battle,
the men forfeiting their will to continue.
A comfort object that I can rely on,
takes me somewhere far away,
away from the struggles,
to a place where pain doesn’t exist
The sofa is like a dog giving me a warm hug,
always there for me when I need it.
