I’m from a place where no one ever sleeps
A place that people criticizes and view as an unoccupied site
But no one understands the true beauty that lies between the glorious mountains
Somewhere that family can always be seen
From late night picnics
To summer trips to the beach
Nothing will ever be as glorious as those days
Although things seem great there were some that were hidden in the shadows
From the corruption of the government to the overpriced school system
That’s why we left
For a better life, a safer life
Coming from somewhere so dead to a place where nothing ever turns off
But some things are just worth sacrificing for the better
A better life was all we were looking for
And that is why we moved
