I met her long ago
We met  in a dream,
And in my dream we laughed,
Together we walked,
Her hand in mine,
And together we would run,
Through the forest of time,
Together we embraced,
Our hearts meld as one,
Together we talked,
As the sun would rise,
Her eyes were diamonds shining bright,
Her skin was soft like silk,
The smile she wore was pure gold,
Her beauty was second to none,
I looked at her,
She looked at me,
I finally felt whole,
For she was like an angel,
No she was my angel,
She was my love,
But alas to my regret I had to wake,
From my greatest dream,
Though that is when I realised,
That I was never asleep,
For the love I loved in my dream,
Was there right next to me,
She is my love,
The love of which I get to keep.

I wrote this poem about my girlfriend while we were together though at first it was about finding the girl of my dreams it took a sad turn in meaning to me when she passed away.  So when I awake is meaning when I die I will be reunited with her.
