White Noise
I am sick of all the white noise
I am sick of the roaring silence
I am sick of the low hum of electricity
So constant
That when it’s not there my ears ring
I am sick of how
The brilliant blue sky
So vast and so beautiful
Is interrupted only by a telephone tower in the distance
It’s frame a spiderweb of harsh grey metal
I am sick
Poisoned by my addiction to these softly glowing screens
That draws me in
Captivates me
Until I, too
Am nothing but white noise
