New Beginnings
In an age of new beginnings Columbine
Sandy Hook and Kent State happen
intertwined with reports of police brutality
against those who they “Protect”
At a time when the opinion on who can love
began to sway in the right direction
In a day where everything and anything you
say can and will offend somebody somewhere
In a decade that saw everyday items become
the i-this and the i-that
At a moment when self centered close-minded
racist billionaires can vie for the utmost
authority in the world
In a nation where “Racism has ended”
but minorities still hide in fear from the people
that are supposed to protect them
It’s only natural that those who are rich white
and powerful emerge through the flames
