Astronaut
The words you speak
Into my messy hair
Do a little dance
Traveling through my ears
They find their way
To the top
And repeat like a broken record.
The record begins to pound
I feel it in my heart.
I try to comprehend the lyrics
Buts its so hard when you have eyes like that.
Eyes deeper than space,
Making me want to become an astronaut.
Explore your mind.
You're hard to read,
But that's okay.
Each day is a new charter
And I love this book.
You're so artistic
I love it when you paint
your beautiful watercolors
In my dull black and white world.
Everyone is moving on
But I am stuck.
You've pavemented my feet
With your colors
And I am floating in your eyes,
Deeper into your mind;
I try to read you.
You stare back blankly.
You're an enigma.
You're a galaxy.
And I am an astronaut.
Lost in space,
Trying to remember the words you once spoke in my messy hair.
