The girl sat on an isolated bench

Far-flung from the bustling world
Shivering despite the thick jacket
Deeply engrossed in a riveting reverie

December had arrived like a freezing dagger
Penetrating through her jacket
With icy drafts that bit at her exposed hands
Cold as frozen iron

The trees around her stood like bony skeletons
Unperturbed by the harsh gale
As if they were reaching for the sky with malice
Where she wished she could be left to fly

Wispy snowflakes cascaded to the ground
As a baleful storm brewed in the sky
But silently it waited
Tantalizing the distressed people it controlled

The silence was deafening to the girl
Winter’s tyrant spell had bound her
Into a consistent encore
Yet she still continued to fantasize

But if you were to look for something tremendous in the situation
Something surreal and fantastic simultaneously
You would see the snow glistening somehow elegantly
As if a fairy had sprinkled her dust across the world
The seemingly mournful grey of the sky
Would hide a streaking light from the early sun

Winter feels like breathing immaculately clean air after a lifetime of mustiness
It kindles a sense of freedom
It would awaken you in feelings of a sublime fantasy
As the world sat in its subdued state

An enigma lie in between all of it
Which the shivering girl, who sat on an isolated bench,
Managed to solve.
