Open Bar
I sit and look out upon a mass number of torment, intimidation, and domination
I hear young people giggling behind others in the hallway
I see large groups of young adults all acting upon an innocent human being just because of one minuscule difference between them
I see fingers pointed behind backs, I see a social hierarchy in a supposed democratic society
I mark every single person encountering this issue in some form, I see young girls running toward the restroom with makeup streaming down their faces
I see the body count rising, I see boys and girls alike being afraid to express who they actually are
I observe a numb society, I observe a Psychiatrist handing out Paroxetine and Lexapro like it's cocktail hour
I observe issues that seem to be “fixed” when in reality the drugs wear off and the depression does not end
All of these-- all the pain and suffering, I sit looking out upon,
See, hear, and I am silent.
