Love in Winter
Not a soul can be seen on the alleyway,
as somber skies begin to overflow,
and the pavement only serves to reflect the dismal atmosphere.
Streetlights flicker in amber,
as the battered avenue lies seemingly deceased,
and the clouds mourn in thunderous cries.
But while others may seek comfort indoors,
I stroll the path anyway,
for I have found shelter in you.
The air drenches my skin in sorrow,
but my heart can remain.
For when we are together,
I see in rose,
what others see in midnight blue.

Love is an invention, to give one the ability to see all of life through a rose colored lense.
