I Want You

I want you.
I watch you from a distance
Chatting with the people near you.
You look at me,
Oh no!
I look away.
You’re walking towards me,
Please no!
My knees go weak;
My heart skips a beat.
You’re causing the butterflies in my stomach to flutter every which way.
You’re standing in front of me.
I can’t help but to stare at you;
5 feet and 11 inches high,
Baby blue eyes,
Mousy brown hair,
Tan olive skin,
Bright yellow construction tshirt,
Old Levi jeans,
Steel-toed boots.
Your smile is contagious,
I’m melting inside.
“Hi,” you say showing your perfectly straight, bright white teeth.
The words you speak are like music to my ears.
I stutter looking for the right words to say...
“Hola,” I respond
Oh my gosh!
I hope I didn’t say that outloud.
He laughed;
I guess I did.
He thinks I’m funny!
I nervously laugh with him.
“What’s goin’ on?” he asks.
“Got to go, I have class,” I blurt out.
He looks confused.
Oh no!
What have I done?
I start turning away.
I think about sprinting away, but no;
That won’t work.
Hmm...
“Wait!” he shouts.
I whip back around,
I look at him,
Raising an eyebrow.
“Let’s get lunch. I’ll pick you up at 1?” he suggests.
Oh my gosh!
I’m jumping for joy on the inside.
“Sure,” I respond trying to hide my excitement.
We turn and walk away,
A grin appears upon my face.
I have you.
