Getting Reeled In
I am 1 out of 7 billion fish in the sea
Why did you choose me?
I took your bait
Slowly you pulled me in, tearing me apart
Scratches and bruises came along
Others just watched as I was reeled in
Others warned me
I didn't listen and took your bait
You pulled me in, I tried to get off your hook
But it was stuck on my lip, luckily you didn't hook my heart
You gave up and left me broken and hurt
With your hook on my lip leaving a scar
Over the years you found other fish in the sea
Wishing I had listened, you came back looking for me
But you can no longer find me
For I am hiding
Where your hook can't catch me

My poem was to make people realize that what they say or do really does hurt.
