and trembling fists.

Red, white, blue flashes
no patriotism harsher than
the barrel of the law,
sirens scream off-key,
tenor notes ricocheting off
unforgiving cracked blacktop rife with
unforgiving black crackpots
and shattered shop fronts,
gunshots pop twelve sharp times
not a camera in sight
to witness the blue coat crime.
