The cold, sharp, stinging air slaps me in the face like an iron bar.
It sweeps me up and makes my hair dance and flicker in the wind like a flame.
The view from up here is stunningly beautiful.
I can see all around me

I thought this moment would be full of fear and anxiety but no.
The silence is instead filled with peace and calm
Relaxing almost, even though I long to leave this horrific place
Up here in this empty yet crowded space.

The cars rush past as I look into the water below
I feel like a constricted force about to be set free
About to let myself go and fly through the clouds
Through the smog, the dust and the salty spray from the waves.

A sudden surge of pain fills me head to toe
But dissipates as I realise that it won’t last for long
Only a short while left
I hold in my breath

Take one last look at solid ground and leap, hardly making a sound
Soaring through the air I feel life is beautiful
Rushing colours filter past my watering eyes
And I see my destination approaching

SO mysterious and dark
Seems the watery depth below me
But I do not feel nervous
Only at peace in myself and the world

For now I can end and be happy again
Just like being born I feel so brand new
So excited and strange for experiences ahead
So intrigued to find out what happens once you are dead
