Things i've learned
I have learned that loving and being in love are different
I have learned that my heart is big enough to be in love with two people and strong enough to let go of one
I have learned that a lie can start as small as a seed, grow taller than a sunflower and destroy it’s surroundings faster than a forest fire
I have learned that being honest with myself is more important than pleasing my peers
I have learned that accepting myself is the first step to accepting others
I have learned that just as my skin doesn’t define who I am, neither does the body count of the girl sitting next to me that wears short skirts and heavy makeup everyday
I have learned that being a good friend isn’t sacrificing myself
And “good friends” don’t expect the world from me
I have learned that holding grudges only makes my heart heavier
Forgiveness is all that can lighten the burden
Most importantly I have learned that even though there will always be someone struggling more than me, my pain is still real
