Paradise Beyond the Grave
I want you to be the last person I embrace
as I lie in my death bed; the one i am
buried next to for all eternity.
I want my rotting flesh to be eaten by the
worms crawling over my lifeless body
as I lay adjacent to yours.
Our bodies will seep back into the soil
and once again meet each other
as we rejoin the cycle of life.
Our bodies will no longer have being
but our bond will be immortal.
Our funeral may seem somber
to our guests as they sob over our coffins
in their black garments.
The frigid winter air biting at their flesh
as snow gently falls overhead
but they will never understand
that this really isn't a gloomy moment,
in reality it is a blessing, to be able to
be with your one and only forever is more
than can be asked for. My Heaven is wherever he is.
If only I could tell them...
