Sleep
My eyes slowly close again
needing the cure
for my misery.
Why
so early
in the morning?
The sun
just barely
rising,
cold air
fills my room.
I want to stay
under my covers.
For today,
just like every day,
I dread
the resistance
of melting
back into
my bed.
Where the warm covers
surround me,
engulfing me and my fatigue.
And it gets
worse.
Tick tock tick tock,
the seconds passes by,
the more I seek
for ways to stay in bed.
But
it’s just like every day.
Time
to get used to it.
Time
to get up.
Tomorrow,
remember
to savor
the night
and the blankets.
And rest your mind
and not worry
about
anything
except
sleep.
