Stop the Hate
97% of young women hate their beautiful bodies.
We say that we are fat, ugly, WORTHLESS
All because of a couple pounds that just refuse to shed.
What does this mean? Where is this going?
1 in 5 girls and young women will have an eating disorder
or know someone who does.
By the age of 8, there are girls going on diets,
Starving themselves in an effort to look “pretty”.
The hate isn’t pretty, the hate is just mean,
And the hate seems to be growing.
As the average age of eating disorders lowers,
Parents are wondering what they’ve done wrong,
But are they truly to blame?
Blame the media; blame society.
Where have we gone wrong?
If young girls are dying and rotting away
In hospitals built for a much older age,
Then where is the future, where are our leaders?
In order to stop this, we must first know that we’re plagued.
We’re plagued by a sickness that we refuse to admit.
Bony is the new pretty and thigh gaps are envied,
What happened to loving ourselves for who we are?
What is the future of PRETTY?
