Monster
Depression is more than a feeling
It’s a Monster
A Monster trying to take over you
You try hard to fight the Monster
But no matter how hard
No matter how long
It will get you
It’s just a matter of time
Before it takes over you
It’s just a matter of time before you yourself become a Monster
Cutting Scratching trying to dull the pain
Doing anything for just a moment free of the Monster
Depression is more than a feeling
It’s a Monster
A Monster trying to take over you
You try hard to fight the Monster
But no matter how hard
No matter how long
It will get you
It’s just a moment of time before it overtakes your thoughts
It’s just a moment of time before it makes you think that you’re not worthy to be loved
It’s just a moment of time before it makes you think you’re not worth it at all
It’s just a moment of time before the Monster is putting thoughts into your head
Thoughts like “I don’t want to be here anymore”
Thoughts like “My family is better off without me”
Thoughts like “I want to die
And before you know it you’re sitting there crying and thinking
"why me?”
And before you know it you’re siting there with a bottle, with a gun, with a knife
And thinking “I’m done”

I know it's not the happiest poem, but this very accurate to how depression actually feels for me.
