Dancing
I stand up,
lights bright,
eyes gleaming,
body light.
I pour myself
across the stage,
passion,
heart,
turn the page.
My instincts fight my teacher’s gaze,
I gracefully pull off
two more
pliés.
Up on pointe
ready to twirl,
close my eyes,
this took four tries,
not messing up
a single curl.
Now the finale,
this is it
I’ll weave myself through
like Grammy’s knit.
My heart pounding,
my eyes laughing.
Smiles on them,
smiles on me,
my flawless act,
brought them glee.

I wrote this poem with the though in my head of flawlessly, dancing and having no limits. Always have confidence in what you do. You can do it!
