Will It Be Me?
She's about to make a curl
in big hair with a knotted comb
while observing all the girls
stumble upon each other's belongings.
Faintly rehearsing the lines
to a culminating answer.
Who will watch my scant steps
and my head held high?
She's about to add a drop
of makeup on her crisp bright face
that is naturally stunning to others
while she assumes it needs brief work.
Anxiously buttoning her dress
for the finest dance on stage.
Who is going to watch me
butcher a move?
She’s about to strut on stage
in 5 inch heels
to be the best her she can be
with a rapid beating heart.
Taking every outfit passionately
for she might win.
Who can tell I am nervous
in this swimsuit?
She's about to answer questions
with her vibrant pink dress on
and the crowd aiming all eyes on her.
Will it be me?
