All I really need to know I learned in kindergarten- Robert Fulghum

Though I've been distracted by wizardry and misery
By empires and umpires; by revolution and evolution
And by monsters outside and in
I've always found myself returning to my sad barrack
So I could fantasize a little longer about the fragrance of hypnotic fruit fields
Which always reminded me of the incredible love ballad which I've only experienced in my day dreams
The stars give me comfort on rare rural nights while I wave hello at my distant alter ego
I'll shed a dry tear as I recall my failures while I contemplate joining the legion of rude sailors
Caught in between sea and time and space, all I can see is that beautiful face
Which yearns for me while my eyes are closed
But pushes me away in reality's afternoons
I must be overthinking, I say to myself, as I once again dream of my trip to Saturn's moons
But I'll look beyond there if I have to, I say in a hopeful mood to the one person I can trust: Lord Solitude.
So I'll one day set sail with my legion and lord on the "SS Love Intergalactic"
Although all my trips thus far have been far from fantastic
But as astrophysics would have it we'll get pulled in by massive black holes
Which give everything their orbit on both poles
Eventually, with much struggle both mental and physical
We'll fly away far enough to see the Milky Way from a distance and it reminds me of something else just as mystical
Despite my resistance, I cannot get out of my head this fair maiden with galaxy eyes
Whose number has to be ratio Phi
So we'll journey even farther so I can get away from my Kryptonite till we reach regions where there is no light
But my crew makes me lonely so I look back to see if I can still see our starting point
But my physical limitations will once again disappoint
As time would have it, sadness has struck and without noticing I got sucked into a black hole
And now I'm in the multiverse where there's more than enough space for my emotional disperse
So I spent what felt like eternity floating around looking for something that would make me feel good
Out of the blue, I see galaxy eye girl through another dimension and reach her I would if only I had such an invention.
Alas, there were no wormholes leading me to her
And though we could both see each other through the looking glass, we both moved on
She left unaware and I left withdrawn
At this point in time I faded away into a bath of universe bubbles
Where for a short period of time I forgot all my struggles
But as fate would have it I'll end up right back at the place where I started
With my whole trip written down, logged and charted
I'll see my crew waiting for me at the bay ready to once again go away
But I tell them that I have no strength left in me
Despite my adventures on the "SS Love Intergalactic", all this ship has done is bring my soul misery

I wrote this when I was 15 as a review of a crush I had on a girl when I was in 9th grade
