Silent Death
Red eyes stood and stared at me, piercing through the black veil
Hand reaching upward towards the sky, gripping the dark cloth
Breath hitched as the figure looking, was a mirrored image of me
Her skin was paled to the point that made her look like a ghost
A bony hand reached up and brought it to her reddened neck
Her flesh was pierced and sawed open for the world to see
Panic began to arise within me as she started to speak
Her voice was nothing but gargles, as if she were choking
Legs shaking and eyes welling with fresh, new tears
As if asking for god’s answer, I fell down to my knees
Blood spurted over me as she edged closer
She stepped aside, allowing me to see past her
A man was making his way towards me, a stride in his step
I looked around for the nightmare that was me
But she was nowhere in sight, as far as the eye could see
The man walked over and helped me to my feet
I felt for the blood on me, but there was none there
He asked if I was alright, if I needed help
My head shook no as I looked up at him
His demeanor suddenly changed, from caring to psychotic
The blade in his hand was suddenly shown
I tried to run, but my feet were cemented into the ground
He brought the knife up and sliced open my neck
I tried to scream, but my blood silence them
I fell to my knees, pressing my hands to my open wound
Red blanketed the ground beneath me as I attempted to breathe
The man’s shadowed loomed over me, as he tilted my head upwards
His eyes were dark, with insanity running throughout them
He jammed the knife in my eye, making me let out a strangled shriek
The pain was beyond any description that I could ever describe
He removed his knife and plucked out my other eye, blinding me
I couldn’t see as I was suddenly kicked to the ground
Now I know why that nightmare version of me came forward
She wasn’t trying to harm me in any way, oh no
She was my death, and she was trying to warn me
