The leaves bristle mildly for a short second across the dirty concrete floor.
Its dark but light is seen beyond the gate.
The heads of the black horses facing the busy road.
The sound of rusty engines can be heard within the walls of the building.

As the day approaches,
parents run
arms wide open wrapping them around her mostly recovered body.
She opens the door squinting as the sun shines bright,

she touches the scars on the back of her wrists, trying to rub those memories away.

she approaches that same gate which was dark and now could see the light which had previously been beyond her.
