Tell Them They´re Worth It
I’ll be your foundation
And you be my ground
Standing strong
Saved from where we were found
We were beaten
And we were bruised
And though it wasn’t what we chose
We needed to know that we were worth fighting for
Cause you tried to act strong
And I fell apart
You gave me strength
And I gave you my heart
For in the end we’re no different
Yes, we had troubled pasts
About to forfeit
Is there any hope left?
We held the other’s hand
Through every battle we faced
Cause at the end of the day
We’re just two people who need someone
To tell them that they’re worth it

I wrote this piece while I was in a relationship my 10th grade year. While I am no longer in that relationship, I feel like this poem can apply to anyone important in my life. I feel like this applies to me and my friends, because we go through a lot of struggles, whether they be unstable households, over exaggerated emotions, or relationships, we are all there for each other; we are all the foundation for which our relationships are built on.
