Smile.

I was created by the gods to punish man for fire.
I came with Hermes, the messenger god
Who held me as he struggled beneath my weight
An ant carrying an elephant
Boom, I hit the ground to meet Pandora
Oh Pandora, that sweet girl
She was so curious and built by the gods just like me
A new creation brought to earth only to hurt it.
To others I am the most beautiful box, eyes
will ever fathom and see with my luscious designs.
Gold ribbon trim on my black paint
Dotted with jewels like the sky with clouds
But looks can be deceiving
I, a creation by the gods had a dark side
Inside me I held the darkest creatures of this world
Anger
Disease
Guilt
Negativity
Pain
Poverty
All the evils the world bares on its back
But I held a ray of light

Hope

This poem was created by combining two things I love, creative writing and mythology. Telling a famous mythology in a different view also brought a new twist. Providing it in the box's view it helped me tell an old myth that is one of the best.
