Bodies like glass,

I once believed that we were creatures,

With skin made clear,

Colors only visible to the human eye.

I believed once that you could see through,

The walls I put up,

Carefully constructed brick and mortar.

You whispered that you knew the story,

Of the Emperors coat,

How you couldn’t be fooled.

So when you knocked on my ribs,

Rang the doorbell,

Waiting for my heart to answer,

I believed you could see it

Hesitate.
